On October 17, 2022, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) C Brannon conducted an announced inspection and met with Director, Danielle Waite. The infant center was licensed with three infant rooms. The infant center will be reducing their infant rooms to two and will be keeping the same capacity of 18 infants.

LPA conducted the inspection of the infant rooms and play yard. The center is located at UC Merced on Ranchers Rd. This program will operate year-round. This facility will provide full-time day care, Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM. This program will operate in the two infant classrooms. Director, Danielle Waite, stated that staff will use masks while indoors.

Director, Danielle Waite, stated that the center will provide a morning snack and afternoon snack. Parents provide formula and foods to meet the infant’s needs. There is a kitchen on site in case food needs to be warmed up or stored. Director is aware that the kitchen is to be made inaccessible to children in care.

The classrooms were observed to be clean and free of toxins. LPA observed that the furniture and equipment appeared to be safe and in good condition. There are enough tables, chairs, cribs, and plenty of toys for infants to play. There is a working carbon monoxide detector in facility.

LPA reviewed with Director, Danielle Waite, that any future changes to the classroom(s) are required to ensure that furniture does not tip over on to infants, the furniture are to be anchored or situated that tipping does not occur. Classroom changes of furniture shall be situated that 100% visual supervision is always provided to infants in care.
