25 | (2) Licensing Program Analysts, Joseph Pacheco and Ginny Badhesha, conducted an unannounced Annual/Random inspection today. LPAs met with Licensee, Cynthia Zarate, toured the home, and census was taken. Staff were spoken to during visit. There is a Spa in the backyard which is covered and locked per regulations. There are no firearms or ammunition present in the home. Poisons, cleaning compounds, medications and other hazardous items are inaccessible to children. Fireplace is located in the living room and is made inaccessible to children with a gate. There is a working fire extinguisher, smoke and carbon monoxide detector, and there is adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. There are no stairs in the home. There is a working telephone. Adequate supervision is being provided during this visit. Children are supervised when outside in the backyard play area. Licensee has dogs in the home that are inaccessible to children in care by being kept in an off-limits area of the backyard. Licensee also has cats and a rabbit that are accessible to children in care. Licensee is aware of child safety around pets and accepts responsibility for any action taken by pets. Capacity as specified on the license is being maintained. Staff-child ratios are maintained. Licensee has a current roster of the children. Fire drills are conducted and documented with the date and time every six months. The most recent fire drill was conducted on 7/2/2019. All adults who reside or work in the home have a criminal record clearance or exemption. There are no excluded individuals present at this home. Pediatric CPR/First Aid are current and expires on 3/25/2020. Immunization’s for staff was reviewed and verified. AB 1207 Mandated Reporter training has been completed. AB 1207 certification expires on 3/1/2020. Licensee had lead safety information posted in accordance with AB 2370, Chapter 676, Statues of 2018.
