25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Norma Lomeli conducted a capacity increase inspection from a Small Family Child Care Home to a Large Family Child Care Home. Present at time of inspection, Licensee, Maria Cervantes and Licensee's Assistant, who is also her Husband, Carlos Cervantes. Licensee, her husband and three minor child reside in the home. LPA verified licensee completed Pediatric CPR and First Aid through EMS Safety with EMSA certified stickers and expires on 7/18/2020. Licensee’s Assistant does not have current Pediatric CPR and First Aid, licensee states that assistant will not be left alone with children. Background criminal record clearances are verified and discussed, and LIS 531 is signed indicating that the adults living in the home and/or providing care and supervision to children are background cleared. Fire clearance was granted on September 27, 2019.
A tour of the home, inside and outside, as shown on the facility sketch, was conducted and the following was discussed and/or observed:
- Fire clearance was received on December 12, 2019. Licensee states that fire inspector did not require for her to install a fire alarm.
- LPA observed children size furniture, safe toys, books and area rugs for the children. LPA also observed a diaper changing table and a crib.
- Licensee states she does not have weapons, firearms, ammunition or poisons in the home.
- Facility has 3A40BC fire extinguisher, carbon monoxide alarm, working smoke alarm and first aid kit in place.
- Licensee is advised at least one staff member with current training in pediatric first aid and pediatric CPR is to be on site at all times children are present.
