25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), David Wilson arrived at this facility for Required - 1 Year inspection. The facility file was reviewed prior to this inspection. A review of the personnel report on file indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. This facility is part of a combination center with a separate preschool license with toddler component. This is a seasonal program, open approximately March through October. Operating hours are generally 5:30am - 7:00pm, depending on parent needs.
The facility was toured inside and outside and the floor and yard plan were verified. Activity space for infants is separate from other age groups. The items which could pose a danger to children (sharps, cleaners, items that may be swallowed) were inaccessible to children. The director stated that poisons are not stored on site and none were observed during the inspection. The facility was free of flies, insects and rodents. The toys, floors, and other equipment and surfaces appeared clean and safe for infants, and in good condition. There is uncontaminated drinking water available to children both indoors and outdoors. The infant changing tables have at least 3" sides and sanitary vinyl pads that are at least 1" thick. There was sufficient napping equipment (cribs and mats) available that meet requirements. A current menu was posted. Food prep areas are clean. Infant formula is provided by this facility and all children as applicable have individual labeled bottles to drink from. Garbage cans containing solid waste have tight fitting lids. The playground was free of hazards. There were no bodies of water observed. The licensee stated no weapons are stored on site and none were observed. During today's inspection, infant staffing ratios were being met as there was five children being supervised by three teachers/aides. All five children were being directly supervised including maintaining constant visual supervision. The facility was operating within the licensed capacity. At least one staff member present possessed CPR and First Aid certifications that expire 05/19/20. Staff have completed Mandated Reporter Training. Sign in/out requirements were in sufficient compliance. Three children’s and three staff records were reviewed and in sufficient compliance.
