Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Samantha Yip conducted an unannounced annual random inspection. LPA met with Site Supervisor Marbella Rodriguez and explained the reason for the inspection. Present during the inspection were 48 children and at least 8 staff. The teacher child ratio was observed to be in compliance during today's inspection.
Facility is located on the Frank Paul Elementary School campus in Room 1(Frank Paul 3), 34B( Frank Paul 1), and 35 (Frank Paul 2). The hours of operation are Monday through Friday 8AM to 4:30PM.

License, Emergency Disaster Plan, and Notification of Parent's Rights were observed to be posted. LPA reviewed sign in/sign out sheet, which contains full legal signature. LPA discussed with Site Supervisor about checking sign in/sign out sheet to ensure children are signed in and out.

LPA toured the inside and outside of the facility. The rooms were observed to be clean and sanitary. Disinfectant, cleaning supplies, and other items that are dangerous to children in care were observed to stored inaccessible. Furniture and equipment, such as tables, chairs, and napping cots, were observed to be in good conditions. LPA observed that there is sufficient amount of toys for children in care. Restroom for children's use were observed to be in functioning condition. Storage containers for waste have a tight-fitted lid. LPA observed a fully charged fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector. Site Supervisor stated that there are no weapons, such as firearms, stored on the premise.

The outdoor area is fenced. Play structure was observed to be in good condition. Area around play structure have resilient material to absorb falls. Site Supervisor stated that playground for Frank Paul 3 and 2 is currently not using playground due to the rain and

since the area around play structure is flooded. A work order has been made to drain the water in the playground and to repair the resilient material. A copy was obtained. LPA discussed with Site Supervisor about sweeping water/puddles that are accumulating before children's use. Shade rest area is provided through canopy.

Facility does provide meals and snacks to children. Area to prepare meals and snacks were observed to sanitary. Drinking water is provided through water fountains.

9 children's files were reviewed during today's inspection. The records reviewed include but not limited to admission agreement. LPA discussed with Site Supervisor about LIC 627: Consent for Emergency Medical Treatment. LPA provided Site Supervisor with a list of the forms required for children's file. Site Supervisor made copies of LIC 627 to have parents complete and sign during inspection.

3 staff files were reviewed during today's inspection. The records reviewed include but not limited to education credit and Mandated Reporter Training. There is currently at least one staff with a valid CPR/1st Aid, which expires on 08/18/2020. LPA reminded Site Supervisor that all forms, such as LIC 9108 and LIC 508 are filled out and signed. All staff are fingerprinted through the North Monterey School District; therefore, all criminal record are monitored through the school district. Site Supervisor confirmekd that all staff present are fingerprint cleared.

Site Supervisor stated that she currently does have children in care who require Incidental Medical Services. Medication is properly stored where it is out of reach of children in care and with proper documentation. LPA provided Site Supervisor with Lead Exposure during inspection.

In the areas that were evaluate during today's inspection, no deficiencies have been cited. An exit interview was conducted, where this report was discussed and provided to Site Supervisor Marbella Rodriguez. A notice of site visit has been issued and must be posted for 30 consecutive days.
