25 | On 07/11/2023 at 9:45 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Susy Cervantes, met with acting director, Alma Valdez, for an annual inspection and explained the nature of today's visit to them. LPA was informed that director, Martha Trujillo is on vacation. LPA toured the Facility both inside and outside for today's inspection. LPA observed the required posted materials, including the Facility License, Emergency Disaster Plan (LIC 610), Earthquake Preparedness Checklist (LIC 9148), Parents' Rights Poster (PUB 393), Personal Rights (LIC 613A), Child Car Seat Law, Menus, and Activity Schedule. There are no active waivers at this time.
A listing of staff criminal record clearances associated to this facility in the CCL Licensing Information System (LIS) on 07/06/2023 was reviewed and it indicates that all Facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background clearances have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
LPA reviewed 6 children and 6 staff's files during today's inspection and observed all files are in compliance. Staff 01 - 06 have current CPR and first aid. Director understands that there shall be at least one person, with valid CPR and First Aid certifications, on site at all times or present during off-site activities (field trips).
LPA observed that the teacher/child ratio was in compliance during today's visit. LPA observed 17 children and 3 teacher in Preschool 1, 12 children and 2 teachers in Preschool 2, 14 children and 2 teachers in Preschool 3, and 7 children and 2 teachers in toddler class. Director understands the conditions, limitations, and capacity specifications of the facility license. Director understands that children shall be visually supervised at all times.
