25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Fermin Campos-Jaramillo conducted an unannounced annual required inspection to the home today. LPA met with Maria Agapita Lopez, Licensee, and explained the nature of today's inspection to her. Days and hours of operation are Monday to Saturday from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The adults that reside in the home are the Licensee, and her son Edgar. There were ten children in care during today's inspection, included two infants, five pre-school age, and three school age. Licensee's minor 13 years old child reside in the home. Licensee's helper Arcelia was also present. Certifications for CPR and First Aid card for Licensee and helpers are current and will expire on 09/28/2019, and helper's CPR will expire 09/02/2019.
LPA toured the indoor and outdoor areas of the home during today's inspection. LPA obtained a copy of the Child Care Facility Roster during today's inspection. Licensee has documented a fire drill during the last six months. Last fire drill was documented on 06/03/2018. LPA reviewed five children's files and observed that parent's rights forms, immunization records forms, consents for emergency medical treatment forms, and Identification and emergency information forms are in each file.
The Licensee has a working telephone (land line) in the home. LPA observed sufficient materials, toys, and play equipment for the day care children. Off limit areas inside are: 2 bedrooms and one bathroom. LPA observed there are not stairs in the home. The home does not have stairs or wall heaters. Off limits areas outside: Left and right side yards and far back yard. LPA observed the back yard is fenced. Licensee uses part of the back yard as playground whenever the weather allows it. LPA observed a fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguisher and working smoke detectors. LPA observed the home has at least one working carbon monoxide detector and no bodies of water. The Licensee states that she does not have any weapons in the home. All detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other similar items are stored inaccessible to children. LPA discussed Incidental Medical Services (IMS) with the Licensee.
