25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elizabeth Berumen met with Licensee, Josefina Rocha for an unannounced annual random inspection. LPA observed Licensee's Assistant, Erica Zamora and 9 day care children (2 infants 7 preschoolers) in the home during today's inspection. Days and hours of operation are Monday - Friday from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The adults that reside in the home are the Licensee and her spouse. Licensee states that her son who turned 18 this year moved out of the home.
LPA reviewed Josefina and Erika's file. Josefina's certifications for CPR and First Aid are current and expires on 01/27/21. Erika and Josefina have immunization against pertussis and measles. Josefina and Erika completed the mandated reporter training AB1207 complaint on 02/21/18. Josefina states that Erika and herself have immunization against influenza; however proof was not available for LPA's review.
LPA reviewed the Child Care Facility Roster and obtained a copy. The Fire/Disaster drill log was reviewed during today's inspection; The last fire/disaster drill was completed on 09/03/19 . LPA inspected the on limit indoor and outdoor areas of the home during today's inspection. The Licensee has a working telephone in the home. LPA observed sufficient materials, toys, and play equipment for the day care children. The home is clean, orderly, and safe for the day care children. Off limit areas inside the home: entire upstairs, which consists of 6 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and 1 hallway closet. Downstairs: 1 screened fireplace (located in the living room), laundry room, living room and kitchen, attached garage. Off limit areas outside the home: entire right side yard and 2 carports. Stairs are not barricaded; there is a door which Licensee states she keeps closed at all times to prevent children from entering off limit areas.
LPA observed a 3A40BC fire extinguisher. The smoke/carbon monoxide detector is functioning. The side play area is fenced, and no bodies of water were observed. The Licensee states that she does not have any weapons in the home. All detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other similar items are stored inaccessible to children. Josefina has a locked laundry room in day care room. Josefina understands that all poisons are to be locked.
