25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Cortney Nelson, met with Site Supervisor, Veronica Vasquez-Fernandez, for an unannounced Required- 1 Year Inspection. LPA was granted access to the facility by Veronica, conducted COVID risk assessment, and toured both indoors and outdoors during the inspection. The facility is located at Hall District Elementary School in a portable located near the back parking lot. Upon arrival, there were 16 preschool-age children and 2 staff members in Room B and 14 preschool-age children and 2 staff members in Room A, which is compliant with the facility license capacity and ratio requirements. LPA observed all required postings near the entrance to the facility. Hours of operation for the facility are Monday – Friday, 8:00AM-4:30PM. (Hours for day care are 8:30AM-2:30PM, full day program)
LPA reviewed sign-in/out sheets, facility roster (LIC9040), and fire/disaster drill log during today’s inspection. Sign-in/out was observed to be completed digitally using the software, ChildPlus, with full legal signature and time of day. The last fire/disaster drill was conducted on 8/26/2022, which is compliant with the six-month requirement for facilities. LPA observed two (2) fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguishers (last serviced 6/2022) and functioning carbon monoxide detectors in each room. The facility is located on a school campus and has a built in fire detector system. The facility currently has children in care who require Incidental Medical Services and medication is properly stored out of reach of children, in a locked box, with the proper documentation. The Site Supervisor states that there are no weapons or firearms on the premises.
This facility provides Incidental Medical Services- IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records.
