25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Joe Macias conducted a Case Management Inspection. The purpose of today’s visit is to ensure the facility is in compliance with Title 22 California Code of Regulations. LPA met with Assistant Program Director Anabel Garcia. LPA toured the Facility both inside and outside during todays inspection. LPA observed the required posted materials, including the Facility License, Emergency Disaster Plan (LIC 610), Earthquake Preparedness Checklist (LIC 9148), Parents' Rights Poster (PUB 393), Personal Rights (LIC 613A), Child Car Seat Law (PUB 269), and Activity Schedule. The hours of operation are Monday - Friday, 8am - 4:30pm. Monterey County Office of Education has submitted an application for the purpose of adding a toddler component to the preschool license. The center has an active waiver for limited outdoor space on file.
Prior to today's inspection LPA Macias received an approved fire clearance from Salinas Fire Department. The requested toddler capacity is for 16 children ranging in ages 18 - 36 months. The toddler component will be housed in room #6, the preschool program will continue to utilize classrooms #1, #2, #3, #4, and #5. The preschool capacity will be decreased to 120 children. The preschool children will exclusively use the preschool playground.
Measurements taken today:
Classroom #6 = 1,171.498 minus 158.060 (encumbered space) = 1,013.438
TOTAL TODDLER INDOOR SPACE: 1,013.438 sq. ft. divided by 35 = 28 children.
There are 2 toilets (30) and 4 sinks (60) available for the children. The working telephone number on site is (831)755-0300. There are adequate supplies and toys for children in care. There are 16 cots, 16 cubbies, four tables, and 18 chairs. The changing table has raised sides that are at least 3 inches in height. The changing table(s) has a vinyl changing pad that is at least 1 inch think and in good condition.

LPA Macias explained that a child who is between 18 months and 36 months of age may participate in the toddler program with written permission from the child's authorized representative. No child in the toddler program shall be placed in the preschool program before the age of 30 months without written permission from the child's authorized representative. |
