Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Samantha Yip conducted an unannounced annual random inspection. LPA met with Director Laura Hunter-Michels and explained the reason of the inspection. Present during the inspection were 6 infants and at least 2 staff. The teacher child ratio was observed to be in compliance during today's inspection.

License, Emergency Disaster Plan, and Notification of Parent's Right were observed to be posted.

LPA toured in the inside and outside of the facility. Room used for infants were observed to be clean. Disinfectants, cleaning supplies and other items that are dangerous to children were observed to stored inaccessible to children in care. Furniture and equipment, such as high chairs and cribs, were observed to be in good condition. LPA discussed with Director about safe sleep and provide Director with safe sleep information. There is changing table, which is within arms reach of a sink. All meals and snacks are prepared and brought from home. LPA observed fridge to store children's food. LPA reminded Director that any food or bottles brought from home needs have the child's name and the current date. Drinking water is provided through individual water bottles/sippy cups. Storage container for waste have a tight-fitted lid. LPA observed a fully charged fire extinguisher and smoke detector. Director stated that there are no weapons, such as firearms, stored in the premise.

Outdoor area is fenced. Facility has a waiver to share outdoor area. Play structure was observed to be in good condition. There is resilient material. There is no bodies of water observed during today's inspection.

4 children's file were reviewed during today's inspection. The records reviewed include but not limited to the Needs and Service plan. Staff stated they gave parents a new Needs and Service Plan to update and sign. They are still waiting for parents bring updated plan.

2 staff files were reviewed during today's inspection. The record reviewed include but not limited to education credit. Staff have a valid CPR/1st Aid, which expires on 06/03/2021.

All staff present have cleared criminal record clearance and child abuse index clearance.

Director stated that she currently does not have any children in care who require Incidental Medical Services (IMS). Director is encouraged to visit the Department’s website at www.cdss.ca.gov to access resources for Providers, Title 22 Regulations, Online Licensing Forms, Adoption of new Laws, etc.


In the areas evaluated during today's inspection, no deficiencies have been cited as a result of today's inspection. A exit interview where this report was discussed and provided to Director. A notice of site visit has been issued and most be posted for 30 consecutive days.
