Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Joe Macias conducted an unannounced Case Management/ Increase of Capacity Inspection. The purpose of today’s visit is to ensure the facility is in compliance with Title 22 California Code of Regulations. LPA met with the Licensee/ Director Auburn & Joe Velasquez, and explained the nature of today's visit. The facility recently submitted an application for the purpose of an increase of capacity. LPA toured the Facility both inside and outside during todays visit. LPA observed the required posted materials, including the Facility License, Emergency Disaster Plan (LIC 610), Earthquake Preparedness Checklist (LIC 9148), Parents' Rights Poster (PUB 393), Personal Rights (LIC 613A), Child Car Seat Law (PUB 269), and Activity Schedule. The hours of operation are Monday - Friday, 8am - 6pm.

The facility is currently licensed to provide care for 34 children and would like an increase, bringing the total capacity to 42 children. A fire safety inspection approval was received from Seaside Fire Department prior to today's inspection. The Licensees recently completed construction to the facility, by taking down a wall and decreasing the office space. The facility notified CCL and provided copies of the acquired permits.

Todays indoor measurements:
Room #1, 478.2 sq. ft.
Room #2, 394.6 sq. ft.
Room #3, 242.9 sq. ft.
Room #4, 273.7 sq. ft.
The new total number of indoor square footage is 1,389.4 divided by 35 = 39.697
LPA informed the Licensees that there is insufficient square footage for the requested increase of capacity to provide care for 45 children. LPA requested the Licensees submit an updated application showing the increase of capacity to be 39 children, as well as an updated facility sketch (LIC 999).
