On 3/5/2020 at 1:55 pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Susy Cervantes met with licensee's assistant Maria Pinon for a case management visit. The Licensee is currently licensed to provide care for up to eight children and is requesting for an increase to provide care for up to fourteen children. Prior to today's inspection LPA received an approved Fire Safety Inspection that was cleared on 2/18/2020. Assistant was present with six children: one infant and five preschool age.

Assistant stated that licensee left to pick up her children from school and was not sure at what time she would return. At 2:11 pm, licensee arrived. LPA toured inside and outside of the house. the off limit areas inside the home are the attached garage, three bedrooms and one bathroom. LPA observed a covered fire place, no wall heaters, and no stairs. LPA observed a 2A10BC fire extinguisher that was last serviced on 7/11/19, working smoke/carbon monoxide detectors, and no bodies of water. The Licensee states that she does not have weapons in the home. All detergents, cleaning compounds, poisons, medications, and other similar items are out of reach and inaccessible to children.

LPA discussed the requirements for a large family child care license. A large family day care home may provide care for more than 12 children and up to and including 14 children, if all of the following conditions are met:
- At least one child is enrolled in and attending kindergarten or elementary school and a second child is at least six years of age.
- No more than three infants are cared for during any time when more than 12 children are being cared for.
- The licensee notifies a parent that the facility is caring for two additional school age children and that there may be up to 13 or 14 children in the home at one time.
- If no assistant provider is present at a Large Family Child Care Home, then the licensee shall comply with the capacity requirements for a Small Family Child Care Home as specified in subsections (b) and (c).
- The total licensed capacity for a Large Family Child Care Home shall not exceed fourteen children.

An exit interview was conducted with Licensee in Spanish. Licensee was given appeal rights. Licensee was informed that a Large Family Child Care License will be issued pending manager approval. No deficiencies were cited during today’s inspection. Notice of site visit must remain posted for 30 days
