During the course of the investigation, LPAs conducted interviews with the Director, five staff members, four children and five parents, and reviewed records. Director and staff members stated they do not yell at the daycare children and do not handle children in a rough manner. Director and one staff member stated they would raise their voices if it pertains to a safety concern and staff members stated when disciplining the children, they would talk to the children and attempt to calm them down but they do not handle children in a rough manner. One parent interview stated that many years ago, they heard there was an issue with a staff member mistreating a child but there were no recent observations of any mistreatment. Staff interviews stated the facility does not operate out of ratio, with two staff stating they notify the director to provide additional coverage when necessary. One parent stated they observed a staff member operating over ratio multiple times. Overall, parents did not have any current concerns about the facility, or the allegations presented. All children interviews stated they felt safe at the center and that the teachers were all kind; not corroborate the allegations.
Based on the information gathered during this investigation, there is not a preponderance of evidence to support the allegation. The allegation is determined to be unsubstantiated. There were no Title 22 deficiencies cited. This report was reviewed and discussed with the facility’s Director, Christina Bohlen. Appeal rights were provided. Notice of Site Visit shall be posted for 30 days from today's visit.
