NOTE: Due to Covid-19 and DPH guidelines on physical distancing, a Tele-visit via FaceTime was conducted.
On Wednesday, August 12th, 2020, at 1:00pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Blake Morillas conducted a Case Management visit for the purpose of increasing the capacity by 60 children, which would increase total capacity from 40 to 100 children. At the beginning of the tele-inspection, the Administrator stated that the facility was currently closed with plans to reopen on 8/17/2020. To meet the requested increase, the Facility is adding 4 classrooms and 2 bathrooms from the main church building to its usable space. A Fire Clearance has been received and the area has been approved by the fire department. At 1:11pm, with the help of the Administrator, a virtual inspection of the requested space was conducted. The added space is that of the ground floor of the main building. The requested additional space consists of 4 classrooms and 2 bathrooms for the children to use. There is a total of 3 toilets, 2 urinals, and 4 sink for children use in this new area. The rooms for the children are equipped with child size furnishings. There is ample shelving and cabinet space to store individual children's personal belongings. Based on the measurements provided by the Administrator, the total usable square footage of the 4 rooms for children equals 2,337 square feet, which is sufficient to meet the request of 40 additional children. With the addition of the rooms and bathrooms, the facility will now consist of 7 classrooms, 7 toilets, 4 urinals, and 8 sinks for usage by the children.
Please note: When a physical inspections takes place, requests for alterations may be made.
They will continue to use the currently licensed outdoor space. Measurements provided indicated that the outdoor square footage is 6,134 square feet, which is not sufficient for a total of 100 children. A playground waiver will be needed.
Pending final approval and issuance of the playground waiver, the Facility's new total capacity will be 100 children.
This report (LIC 809), Appeal Rights (LIC 9058) and a Notice of Site Visit (LIC 9213) will be delivered to the Administrator electronically via email.
Acknowledgement of delivery will constitute acknowledgement of the report in lieu of a signature
