32 | Children's files were reviewed and observed to be complete. Upon review of staff files, LPA observed that a recently hired staff member was missing proof of immunizations. Staff records confirmed at least one staff member present today has current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification, and that all staff currently employed with the facility have valid AB1207 Manded Reporter Training certificates. Criminal record clearances were also verified, and facility representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA reviewed the Department's inspection authority and discussed with designee any changes that may occur regarding the director or an employee acting in the director's absence must be reported to department within 10 working days.
When LPA discussed Assembly Bill 2370 regarding the requirement for all Child Care Centers to test their water for excessive amounts of lead, director admitted that the facility has not yet complied with this health directive.
Director was encouraged to the visit the departments website at WWW.CCLD.CA.GOV for information regarding childcare updates, forms, regulations and legislation pertaining child care centers.
Title 22 deficiencies are cited on the subsequent pages of this report.
Licensee acknowledges, that FOR TYPE A DEFICIENCIES ONLY upon receipt, licensee shall post LIC 809D with Type A deficiencies for 30 days and provide copies of this licensing report to parents/guardians of children in care at the facility and to parents/guardians of children newly enrolled at the facility during the next 12 months. LIC 9224 must be signed by parents/guardians and kept with the children's forms as a receipt whenever any Type A documents are provided by the licensee. LIC 9224 and Appeal Rights were provided.
Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the facility representative Kirsten Kuehne. A Notice of Site Visit was provided and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.
