25 | On 01/21/2021, at 9:30 a.m., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Stacy Torrence conducted a virtual inspection with Shelby Reynolds, Lead Teacher. There were 60 children and 9 staff present. The purpose of this inspection is to provide technical assistance and ensure the facility is safe for the care and supervision of children in care. Due to COVID-19 state of emergency a waiver to co-mingle maximum of five school age children with preschool children in order to create cohorts of children that are stable throughout the day, during the COVID-19 pandemic, waiver was granted on 10/30/2020 for the facility to care for children ages 2-5, at the above address due to COVID-19.
The facility will utilize the following classrooms for childcare: Rooms 1-8.
Check-in will take place in front of the facility, where there is a table setup, and parent use their mobile app to check in their children. Parents are not allowed to enter the facility; staff meet the children and walk them to their classrooms. If children become ill during the day, the school office building serve as the isolation area for the children to rest and there are bathrooms, located in the building for the children to use. Children’s authorized representative will be contacted immediately for pick up, if a child becomes ill. Department of Public Health will be contacted in regard to any COVID-19 illness.
Children will stay with the same group as assigned and will not be moved from one group to the other. No more than 16 individuals in a cohort and groups must be kept physically separated. Age appropriate furniture including tables and chairs and are present in each of the rooms to meet the needs of children in care. Staff bathrooms are located next to the classrooms. There are nine toilets, four urinals, and six sinks available for the children. There is a designated outdoor play area with age appropriate equipment and activities. Drinking water readily available through the use of water bottles and if children need a re-fill, filter water is available.
