32 | During LPA’s initial 10-day visit on 05/02/2023, LPA interviewed Director and four staff members. 4 out of 4 staff members stated they communicate with parents daily either in person or through their electronic application. 4 out of 4 staff were unable to recall any recent incidents/injuries that required communication to management or parents. Director informed LPA that they are an all-outdoor campus and parents are fully aware and trust their approach to education. Director stated they have not had any recent injuries or incidents that would have required an incident report. Director also stated since the facility has such a small enrollment, the staff and parents have strong relationships and excellent communication.
LPA interviewed two Directors from neighboring schools located on the same campus. The information provided on the complaint was very vague and LPA wanted to prevent investigating the incorrect school. 2 out of 2 Directors were unable to corroborate any similar incidents at their facilities.
LPA interviewed 4 out of 7 parents, 3 parents were unavailable. 3 out of the 4 parents spoke highly of the facility, its environment and its staff. 1 out of 4 parents’ statements coincided with allegation #1 and allegation #2 on the complaint.
Based on LPA’s interviews conducted, the allegation 1) staff are not adequately supervising daycare children while in care and 2) staff are not reporting incidents involving daycare child(ren) in care may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violations did or did not occur, therefore the allegation is unsubstantiated.
Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Director Vanessa Collett. Director was provided a copy of their appeal rights (LIC 9058) and their signature on this form acknowledges receipt of these rights. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
