25 | On 04/08/2021, at 10:00 a.m., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Stacy Torrence conducted a virtual inspection with Sara Newson, Director and Jennifer Willis, Administrator Director of Operation. The purpose of this inspection is to provide technical assistance and ensure the facility is safe for the care and supervision of children in care. There were 2 children and 2 staff present. Due to COVID-19 state of emergency, a waiver to allow the usage of additional spaces, not licensed by the Department, to accommodate their existing school age children according to the current class size restrictions as a precautionary measure with the COVID-19 outbreak, original waiver was effective 06/29/2020 until 09/29/2020, department has agreed to extend the waiver to 06/16/2021.
The Orange County Fire Authority Permit was granted on 09/01/2020 to add the following rooms: Multipurpose Room (MPR).
Facility check-in procedure: parent walk children to a cart, located outside of classroom, staff conduct a wellness check of the children, children’s temperature is taken, a tablet is located on the cart, in which, parents scan a unique barcode to sign children in, once signed in, children go and wash their hands. If children become ill during the day, they will rest in the isolation area located, in room CC1, in which, there is an area section off, with a couch, children will use the staff bathroom located in CC2. Children’s authorized representative will be contacted immediately for pick up, if a child becomes ill. Department of Public Health will be contacted in regard to any COVID-19 illness.
Children will stay with the same group as assigned and will not be moved from one group to the other. No more than 16 individuals in a cohort and groups must be kept physically separated. Age appropriate furniture including tables and chairs and are present in each of the rooms to meet the needs of children in care. There is a children’s bathroom in each classroom, which is a total of 2 bathrooms, the facility also uses the school’s bathrooms. There are 12 toilets, 8 sinks available. There is a designated outdoor play area with age appropriate equipment and activities. Children bring their own water bottles from home, and there are filter water pitchers available for refills. The school have water stations outside, ensuring water is available for the children. The facility also provides disposal cups for children who forget their water bottles.
