25 | On May 09 of 2023 at 9:00am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) A. Silva conducted an unannounced Required – 1 Year inspection assisted by Director Jennifer Eady. Upon arrival, total census was 83 (Class1 19, Class2 24, Class3 19, Class 4 21). There were three staff in classes one and two, and two staff in classes three and four. The facility was operating within its licensed capacity and within compliance of staff to child ratios. Facility hours are 7 a.m.- 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. An on-site Facility Personnel Report Summary review showed that all facility staff or other individuals who require background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions.
INDOOR INSPECTION. The LPA inspected the indoor areas identified in the LIC999 Facility Sketch and areas accessible to clients at the time of inspection. The facility was equipped with working carbon monoxide and smoke detectors, working telephone service, and at least one fire extinguisher that meets statutory and State Fire Marshall standards. A record review shows that the last drill was documented on 10/20/22
The director stated that there are no firearms and/or other dangerous weapons in the facility; none were observed during the inspection. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medicines, and other items that could pose a danger if readily available were inaccessible to clients in care. No poisons or other items that could pose a danger to clients were observed during the inspection. Clients nap on cots. According to the directo, beddings are stored individually and washed weekly at home. The facility provides age-appropriate toys, play equipment, and materials for the clients served.
The center provides lunch and two snacks to the children. The director stated the food is delivered from the university kitchen. The LPA observed that the facility’s floors, equipment, furniture, and clients’ bathrooms were clean, in good repair, and free of sharp edges. The facility meets all posting requirements. |
