A case management inspection conducted on this day by Licensing Program Analyst ( LPA) Ho. The Early Childhood Educator Setting is requesting to add a toddler option component to the existing preschool license without any change to the capacity. The Early Childhood Educator Setting is currently licensed for 87 preschool children and seeking to add 35 toddlers ages 18 to 36 months old to the preschool license. Rooms C117 will be used for the toddler option program. No children were present during today's inspection due to Summer Break. A review of staff records on this date indicated that all facility staff or other individuals who required caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions.
Measurements were taken as follows:
Indoor space:
Room # C117: 29'9 x 28.3' = 840'/35' = 24 children

Sink: 6 x 15 = 90 children
Toilet: 4 x 15 = 60 children.
Outdoor space:
Toddler Yard (by room C112): 22' x 8'6 = 187'
30'3 x 39'6 = 1194'
17'3 x 17'9 = 306'
27' x 5' = 135'
Total: 187' + 1194' + 306' + 135' = 1822'/75' = 24 children.

Base on today’s measurements and the sink & toilet availability, center does not have sufficient activity space to support the requested capacity of 35 toddler option children. Center has adequate spaces to support only 24 toddler option and 63 preschool children.

Director was advised the following:
1. No child in the toddler program shall be placed in the preschool program before the age of 30 months without
written permission from the child's authorized representative.
2. The maximum group size, with two teachers, or one fully qualified teacher and one aide, does not exceed 12
toddlers.

Exit interview conducted. Notice of Site Visit was posted. Director was informed that the Notice of Site Visit must be posted for 30 consecutive days. Failure to post will result in civil penalties of $100.
