Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mahnaz (Nancy) Malek conducted an onsite inspection for the purpose of an Annual Inspection. The Covid-19 Emergency Response questionnaire was answered by director, Josie Stephan. LPA and the director toured the facility inside and outside, and the floor and yard plan (LIC 999) were verified. LPA observed no children present today. According to director, the facility is closed to children for two weeks. 3 staff were observed in preparation of the classrooms for opening day of Monday August 15, 2022. According to director, there are almost 20 preschool children enrolled in the program for full time and part time schedule. The capacity does not exceed 50 children at any given day and time. The director is aware of teach child ratio. The classrooms # 7, 8, and 9 were inspected.. Due to COVID 19 guidelines, LPA observed the facility was following CDC and Dept of Public Health Guidelines. Facility hours are 7:30am - 6:00pm., Monday through Friday. A review of the Facility Personnel Report Summary on this date indicates all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
During the inspection of the indoor activity space, items which could pose a danger to children (detergents, cleaning compounds, and medications) were observed to be stored out of the reach of children. Poisons/Hazardous Items are not kept on the premises. The facility does not provide lunch and snack for children. They are provided by parents. Floors, equipment, and furniture were clean and observed to be in good repair and free of sharp edges. There is drinking water available to children indoors by children's own water bottles.
