25 | An unannounced annual inspection was conducted by the Program Analyst (LPA) Torrence on 10/01/2019. During this inspection, LPA Torrence met with Director Stefani Ernst who guided analyst on a tour of the Early Childhood Setting indoors and outdoors. Census was taken. LPA observed nine toddler children napping in room B118 with one staff supervising and in room B111 one staff feeding three infants and three infants in the napping area being supervised by one staff. A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who required caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. This program serves children ages 6 weeks to 24 months. Operation hours are: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
The facility was reviewed to ensure compliance with license conditions and limitations, staffing and ratios, inaccessibility to poisons, medication, and hazardous items that can pose a danger to children. Equipment and furniture were inspected to ensure it's in good condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. The napping area is separated from the activity area. The facility has sufficient infant napping equipment that meets the requirements. There were no baby walkers observed on the premises. The changing table is within arm reach of a sink. Per the Director there was no weapons or firearms at the facility. LPA observed no bodies of water in the facility. The playground was inspected for safety, good condition of equipment, including appropriate cushioning material around and under high climbing equipment. There was a carbon monoxide detector present at the facility.
Staff's files were reviewed for education verification, and required immunization's for (Measles, Pertussis, and Influenza vaccines). At least one staff member present had current Pediatric CPR & First Aid on file. Staff had the mandated reporter training on file.
A sample of children's files were reviewed for completeness of medical assessment. The facility has an individual feeding plan for each infant and each infant has an infant Needs and Services Plan.
