On June 14, 2024 at 9:15am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), P Rivas conducted case management visit for a reduction in capacity. Upon arrival, LPA met with Applicant/Facility Representative Michelle "Shelly" Harmon. Applicant is requesting for a reduction in capacity to 75 pre schoolers ages 2-6 in classrooms C114, C115, C116, C117, C118. Room C113 is the temporary office and will not be counted into the square footage. Hours of operation will be Monday-Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm.

All indoor and outdoor activity space utilized for the children was inspected today. LPA informed Ms. Harmon that staff are required to maintain direct visual supervision of the children at all times during indoor and outdoor activities. Ms. Harmon was advised to ensure all exits are secured. When medications are on site, Ms. Harmon stated that they will be in a cabinet under lock and key and there is also a refrigerator available in C113. A fully equipped first aid kit is located in in each classroom. There is a Health office on grounds also available.Isolation area will be Health Office with separate bathroom or if health office has too many children, the children can be isolated in Rm C113 .There is an operational carbon monoxide detector on site located in each classroom. documents were observed posted in the main walk way. Children will be signed in and out in each classroom.
LPA continued to tour the facility and measured all indoor and outdoor activity space. Total indoor activity space measured 4196.62 square feet which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 75 Children. LPA observed all indoor activity space to be complete with safe, age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, cubbies, napping cots/mats, bookshelves, and other activity supplies for the children. Drinking water is available in the classrooms via own water bottles, filtering stations, water pitcher and cups. LPA observed all hazardous items to be inaccessible to children. There are no bodies of water or weapons on the property. Fire clearance was granted on 04/02/24 but rooms were not available until end of school year. Special Conditions: "Approval for temporary movement of children due to summer school and site constructions"

LPA observed a total of 5 sinks (3 in girls bathroom, 2 in boys bathroom) and 7 toilets in girls bathroom, four toilets and 2 urinals in boys bathroom available for children’s use. These are sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 75 children. There is a separate staff restroom equipped with a toilet and a sink.



Facility will provide snacks and lunch The kitchen area (Green Family Commons D121 currently includes ovens, grills, freezers, walk in refrigerator, dish washer, sinks, warmers, tilt kettle. from cleaning materials. Hazardous items in kitchen are inaccessible to children via locked doors and supervision. If no staff present the areas are locked.
The facility currently has a fully fenced outside activity space. Fencing is chain linkand is at least four feet high. The outside area measured were the Outside classroom and the Little field. The total square footage for the outdoor activity space is 14162.40 square feet, which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity. Also available on a need basis is the Field, basket ball court, gym IbHub(library D224), Black box Theater (C202), Dance Room (C203). Shade is provided via umbrellas and shade awning. There are sufficient outdoor age-appropriate toys and play equipment available on the playground. There are no climbing structures available for children's use. Drinking water is available via children's own water bottles and filtered water station and water pitchers with cups. LPA observed all hazardous items on the playground to be inaccessible to children. Applicant Ms. Harmon was reminded that any changes to the facility must be reported to and approved by Community Care Licensing.

For child care center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1- CCP).



No corrections are needed. A license for 75 children will be granted upon a final file review.
