32 | Teacher-infant ratios were observed and staff names recorded. Care and supervision was evaluated to determine if the basic needs of infants are met and appropriate. Infant Needs and Assessments are done quarterly or updated as needed. Sign-in and out sheets and procedures were reviewed. Personal Rights of infants were observed by LPA. Staff and Infant Records were reviewed for completeness. Inspection of required forms made. Director stated there is a always a staff in the crib room when there is napping infant(s).
Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. Staff files for staff present during LPA’s inspection were reviewed for a personnel record (LIC 500), education requirements, health screening (LIC 503), criminal record statement (LIC 508), employee rights (LIC 9052), TB test, immunization’s and mandated reporter training. At least one staff member present posses a current First Aid/CPR certification which expires 09/2020.
Personnel files reviewed show infant care teachers have completed at 3 units in early childhood education related to the care of infants. Proof of immunization's against pertussis and measles for all employees/volunteers were reviewed for compliance with SB 792. Beginning March 31, 2018, Health and Safety Code 1596.8662 requires all directors and employees to complete training as specified on their mandated reporter duties and to renew their training every two years, per A.B. 1207. In the areas reviewed, the 3 infant/Toddler staff files reviewed were found to be in substantial compliance.
A copy of the 2016 “A Child Care Providers Guild to Safe Sleep” was provided to the facility representative.
