Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mila Quinto conducted a case management inspection of the facility for the purpose of the facility increasing their capacity from 28 to 48 infant by adding Room #7 and Room #8 to the existing classrooms. LPA met with director, Veronica Gonzalez who gave LPA a tour of the facility. The facility is currently licensed for 28 children in rooms 5 and 6. There were 23 infant children and 6 staff members in the infant classrooms.

A review of the Facility Personnel Report Summary on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions.

The facility has requested to provide care and supervision to 48 infant ages 6 weeks old to 24 months old, Monday to Friday from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm.

LPA inspected room 7 and room 8. The classroom were not ready. The furniture has not been set for infant care. The Director stated will be rearranging the rooms to accommodate the infant children and will also be adding age-appropriate toys. There is a changing table in each rooms with raised sides at least three inches high with a 1-inch padded surface covered with washable vinyl.

There is a fire extinguisher in the room.

As of today’s visit, the total room measurements for rooms 5, 6, 7 & 8 classrooms is 1875.51 to accommodate 48 children.

Toilets: 3 X 15= 45 children
Sinks: 6 X 15 = 90 children.

Outdoor space is completely enclosed. The outdoor activity area is supplied with age and size appropriate equipment with adequate cushioning materials made of turf.

As of today’s visit, the total measurement for the outdoor space is 2450.51 to accommodate 33 children.

Due to the measurements obtained for the outdoor play area, the Directro will need to request a waiver in order to obtain the capacity of 48. LPA consulted with the director to submit a waiver for the playground to accommodate the capacity requested.

LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with director, Veronica Gonzalez and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at

The facility is not ready to be license at the time of the inspection. The application will be final reviewed and discussed with management in the Regional Office and after receiving the following corrections. The facility will be notified if any additional information is required. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Veronica Gonzalez.
1. Rearrange furniture to accommodate infant children and add age-appropriate toys.
2. Waiver request to use the infant playground to accommodate the 48 children.

An exit interview was conducted with the director.

The Notice of Site Visit was given and discussed it must be posted as required by H & S Code Sec. 1596.817. Notice of Site Visit must be posted for 30 consecutive days. Failure to post will result in civil penalties of $100.00
