25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) P Rivas conducted an unannounced annual inspection. LPA and Manuel Gomez, Site, Director toured the facility inside and outside, and the floor and yard plan (LIC 999) were verified. There are currently 38 children . Rm#1 is the part time room and no children were in attendance. RM#2 are for 3 to 5 year olds, 16 children and 2 teachers were in attendance. RM3 is for 3 to 5 year olds and there were 15 children and 2 teachers in attendance. RM4 are for the 2 to 3 year olds and there were 7 children in attendance and two teachers. All Children were napping during visit. Director reports there is a Master File for Fingerprinting; Ms. Traci Sallade Education Manager reported there has never been a written letter allowing the Master File. Upon return to office, LPA will verify information. However, each staff file reviewed had fingerprint transfer information. Facility hours are 7:30a.m.- 5:30p.m., Monday through Friday. Facility was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
During the inspection of the indoor activity space, items which could pose a danger to children (detergents, cleaning compounds, and medications) were observed to be stored out of the reach of children. Poisons/Hazardous Items are not kept on the premises. Food is prepared on site; snacks are provided lunch can be purchased. Food prep areas were clean and sanitary. Food is properly stored. Floors, equipment, and furniture were clean and observed to be in good repair and free of sharp edges. There is drinking water available to children indoors via water dispenser. The children's bathrooms are clean and sanitary. The last fire drill was conducted 05/31/22 and documented. The facility has a at least one working smoke detector, one working carbon monoxide detector and at least one functioning fire extinguisher. Facility meets all posting requirements. The outdoor activity space was inspected for compliance. The playground is enclosed by a fence at least four feet in height and is in good repair. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained and free of hazards. The cushioning material around outdoor play equipment and other similar equipment appeared to be enough to absorbs falls.
