25 | A Case Management - Annual Continuation Inspection was conducted in the facility by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Corral. COVID-19 Prescreening Questionnaire was reviewed with Licensee by LPA Corral. During Inspection LPA Corral observed Licensee Margaret Colasante and Assistant Marlene Estrada caring for 7 children which included 1 infant, 4 preschool age children and 2 school age children in care. Licensee's daughter also named Margaret Colasante was leaving Facility to drop off a school age child to a different child care. Licensee was operating within the licensed capacity as specified on license. Due to COVID 19 guidelines, LPA observed staff wearing face masks. A review of the Facility Personnel Report Summary conducted on 07/19/2021 indicates all facility residents, staff, or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. Currently there are 3 adults living in the home which includes the Licensee, her Husband and adult daughter. There are also 3 Foster Care Children who reside in the home.
This is an Annual Continuation Inspection which was initiated on 07/21/2021. LPA Corral and licensee toured the inside and outside areas which are accessible to children in care. The areas accessible to children are the front yard that is the main entrance of the home which is gated, play room that is accessible through the front yard, a napping/changing room that is accessible through the play room, and the bathroom that is located in the napping/changing room. The front yard is gated and children enter the facility through a door located in the front yard. During the 07/21/2021 Inspection the front yard contained 2 swings and a trampoline that posed a potential risk to children in care. During today’s inspection the swings and the trampoline had been removed. The main home is off limits and not available to children in care, the home is made inaccessible by the use of a lock and key door that is located in the napping/changing room, next to the bathroom.
Detergents, cleaning compounds, and other items which could pose a danger if readily available to children were made inaccessible to children and are stored in the garage. Medication is also inaccessible and stored in the kitchen above the oven, 5 feet high.
