Staff files were reviewed for the staff present during the facility inspection. Beginning September 1, 2016, Health and Safety (H&S) 1597.622 states, a person shall not be employed or volunteer at a family day care home if he or she has not been immunized against influenza, pertussis, and measles. Proof of immunization against pertussis, measles and influenza for Licensee and the Assistant were reviewed and within compliance. Beginning March 31, 2018, H&S Code 1596.8662 requires all directors and employees to complete mandated reporting training, and to renew the training every two years. Licensee and Assistant were in compliance with mandated reporting training, Licensee Rosa completed her Mandated Reporter on 03/04/2020. Licensee's Pediatric CPR/First Aid certification expires on 03/01/2022. LPA Corral also reviewed Children's Records. Each child’s record contained information of the child’s name, address, and telephone number of the child’s authorized representative and of relatives or someone who can assume responsibility for the child if the authorized representative cannot be reached.
LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. The backyard was inspected which was enclosed by a gate and there was also an adult present providing care and supervision for the children. The outdoor equipment and toys were in good repair and free of sharp edges. The home was kept clean and orderly with heating and ventilation for safety and comfort.
There was a play yard present in the infant room, the play yard was free from loose articles and objects. Licensee provides supervision while infant is sleeping. Licensee maintains a Sleeping Log which includes date, infant's name and time of check. Licensee stated the infant is physically check every 15 minutes during sleep and LPA Corral observed Assistant Griselda providing infant care.
Licensee Rosa was informed that Licensing Quarterly Updates are available at www.ccld.ca.gov, she was also informed she may request to be added to an email list to receive a Quarterly Update by contacting the Child Care Advocate at childcareadvocatesprogram@dss.ca.gov.
