32 | All areas identified on the facility sketch that children use, were inspected for safety, comfort, cleanliness, telephone service via home phone and mobile phone. Central ventilation and heating is available in the home. There are working carbon monoxide, smoke detector, and fire extinguisher in the home that meet statutory and State Fire Marshall standards. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medicines, and other items which could pose a danger if readily available to children were stored inaccessible to children.
Licensee has the Parent’s Rights poster and other appropriate forms posted. Children records were reviewed for LIC700 and Immunization cards. All records were observed to be complete. Staff files were reviewed for Immunizations, MMR, TDAP and Influenza and Mandated Reporter Training. During this inspection it was observed that the mandated reporter had expired for all four staff. The mandated reporter training had been completed on 01/08/2018 for Staff#1, 2 and Staff#3. Staff#4. had completed the mandated reporter training on 02/18/2018. LPA Villa provided the website to the license and provided instruction on how to renew the mandated reporter. Licensee was reminded that the Mandated reporter training expires every two years. The licensee has a valid Pediatric CPR/First Aid certification expired 05/03/2020. The last fire disaster drill was conducted on 02/18/2020 as indicated on the fire disaster drill log. Licensee stated there are no firearms or weapons in the home. The home has age appropriate toys for the ages served.
Beginning September 1, 2016, Health and Safety (H&S) 1597.622 states, a person shall not be employed or volunteer at a family day care home if he or she has not been immunized against influenza, pertussis, and measles. The licensee and her assistants have proof of immunization against pertussis, and measles, and influenza or written declaration to decline. Beginning March 31, 2018, H&S Code 1596.8662 requires all licensed providers and employees to complete mandated reporting training, and to renew the training every two years.

When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department.
