25 | Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs), Stacy Torrence and Diana Valdez-Santana conducted an unannounced capacity increase inspection of the facility on today's date due to receiving an application on 03/05/2022 requesting an increase in capacity. LPAs met with licensee Deborah Kadrie, who guided analysts on a tour of the facility. Also present during today’s inspection was licensee’s husband/assistant. Census was taken. There were two infants and four preschool children present. Currently there are two adult residents and one minor child living in the home. The applicant is requesting a Large Family childcare home license. Per applicant, operation hours will be Monday to Friday 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM and care and supervision shall be provided to children ages 3 months years old to 7 years old (Infant, Preschool, School-Age). Applicant stated she is not currently registered with any Foster Care agency or holds a foster parent license. Applicant was reminded if changes to notify the licensing office.
A review of criminal clearance records on this date indicates adults who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions.
The facility is a single-story home with three bedrooms, two bathrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen, den, front yard (not fenced), backyard (fenced) and attached garage. Applicant has designated the two bedrooms, one bathroom, den, living room, dining room, kitchen, and backyard, as the daycare areas. Applicant has designated the master bedroom, master bathroom, front yard, and attached garage, as off limit areas. Applicant has placed a doorknob safety cover, on the off-limit master bedroom (bathroom), ensuring this room is inaccessible to children, during operation hours. The applicant acknowledged the children may never enter the off-limit areas. Control of property was verified by LPA during today’s inspection. Applicant has cell phone and landline that are used for childcare. Applicant was informed if cell phones are used for childcare, they must remain on the premises at all times during hours of operation. Applicant was informed and understands the home is to be free from smoking during hours of operation.
