32 | Off Limit areas: Licensee has placed the living room, kitchen, garage, front yard and all second story as off limits and has placed child proof gates, door handles, and locks to prevent the children from entering the off-limit areas during operation hours. The facility has an AC/Heater system installed throughout the home and inaccessible to children. Facility has a fireplace, in the off limit area of the home.
The home has age appropriate Infant and preschool age toys / furniture and activities for children.
Licensee stated there are not firearms and/or other dangerous weapons in the facility and none were observed during today's inspections. There are no Pets/ weapons or Bodies of water on the premises.
On today’s inspection LPA observed Licensee was engaged in providing care and supervision to the Infants . Infants were taking nap in the cribs which are arranged at the end of the room, while one older infant was napping on the sleeping mats provided by the parents. Linens/ Blankets were clean and are provided by the parents, additional linens are available if needed. Licensee does provide Breakfast/ Lunch /AM and PM snacks and Licensee is enrolled in food program (WIC).
LPA verified there is a working telephone service (cellular service ). Licensee stated they do use an outdoor play area adjoining the day care room, it has a metal fencing surrounding it, making it separate from the big back yard. IT has a concrete flooring, a soft carpet is placed during outdoor activities for Infants, age appropriate toys are available for children.
The licensee does have a current roster of children in care and the 3 records were reviewed on today's inspection , LPA reviewed the emergency information card that contains all the information specified by regulation (LIC 700) and found to be in compliance. The licensee and assistant’s Pediatric CPR/First Aid certification is valid through September 2023.
The licensee understands she must be present in the facility, must ensure children in care are supervised at all times, and children are not to be left in parked vehicles. When the licensee is temporarily absent from the facility, arrangements must be made for a qualified substitute adult to care and supervise children while absent. The substitute adult must have the required criminal record, child abuse index clearances, immunization's, Pediatric CPR/First Aid, and mandated reporter training. (2) |
