32 | Licensee stated there no firearms and/or other dangerous weapons in the facility and none were observed during today's inspections. There is a fireplace screened by a 4-panel glass door and blocked by toy kitchen and inaccessible to children in care.
The home has age-appropriate toys for the ages served such as pretend kitchen, blocks and toy cars. LPA verified there is a working telephone service (cellular service), licensee was reminded that childcare phone needs to remain the in the childcare at all times. Licensee stated they use the backyard for outdoor play. The facility does have bodies of water which is an in-ground pool. LPA inspected and completed the bodies of water checklist. There are 2 set of windows facing the pool, the windows are blocked by a wooded panel that is 1 1/2 ft in height and 5ft long per window, placed at the child care area side. Photos of the wood panel was taken during today’s inspection.
The licensee does have a current roster of children in care. Children’s records for children present during LPA’s inspection were reviewed for a copy of the emergency information card that contains all the information specified by regulation (LIC 700), Immunization records, Affidavit Regarding Liability Insurance (LIC282), Consent for Emergency Medical Treatment (LIC627), Notification of Parent’s Rights (LIC995A) and found to be in compliance. Licensee stated, are is 2 infant under 24 months enrolled in the childcare. Based on record review and interview, LPA observed that 15-minute napping log for infants is missing and found to be out of compliance.
The licensee and assistant’s Pediatric CPR/First Aid certification expires on 09/03/2024. Beginning September 1, 2016, Health and Safety (H&S) 1597.622 states, a person shall not be employed or volunteer at a family childcare home if he or she has not been immunized against influenza, pertussis, and measles. Proof of immunization against pertussis, measles for (licensee and assistant) were reviewed and within compliance.
Beginning March 31, 2018, H&S Code 1596.8662 requires all licensed providers and employees to complete mandated reporting training, and to renew the training every two years. Both Licensee and assistant has expired Mandated Reporter Certificate and it is found to be out of compliance.
