breakfast, lunch, and snacks in between meals. There is drinking water available to children indoors via pitcher and cups. Per Director, children also bring sports bottles from home. The children's bathrooms are clean and sanitary, and provide individual privacy. Per Director, children do not nap in the School Age program, but are offered opportunities to rest. Per Director, children attend Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from approximately 2:15 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., and on Wednesdays, children arrive at approximately 1:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The facility met all posting requirements. The California Child Passenger Safety Law, Parent's Rights poster, Children's Rights, License and Waivers were posted by the entrance of the facility.
Facility has a Waiver for School Age children to share the Preschool play yard. LPA inspected both the School Age outdoor play yard, and the Preschool play yard. LPA observed readily available drinking water, via water pitchers and disposable cups in the School Age play yard, and a water fountain in the Preschool play yard. Outdoor playground equipment in both the play yards are in a safe condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. The surfaces of the outdoor activity spaces are maintained in a safe condition and free of hazards. All areas, in the Preschool play yard around or under high climbing equipment, slides, and similar equipment are cushioned with material that absorbs a fall. Per Director, School Age children only use the School Age play yard when needing to separate children by program. There is adequate shade in the School Age play yard via trees, and adequate shade in the Preschool play yard via tarp. The facility shall ensure that each child is never left unattended, and is under the direct visual supervision of a staff person at all times.
FACILITY RECORDS
There is at least one person trained in CPR and Pediatric First Aid present during this inspection. The child care center has three additional fully qualified teachers designated to act in the director's absence, and is on file. Educational background, transcripts, training, and/or experience for each staff present are on file and were reviewed. LPA observed all personnel to be in good health, and are physically and mentally capable of performing assigned tasks. LPA advised Director that personnel posing a threat to the health and safety of children shall be relieved of their duties. LPA observed most current on-the-job training regarding lesson planning and assessments, language development, family communication, and positive behavior on 10/4/2021. LPA observed staff to have current Mandated Reporter Training (AB1207) on file. LPA observed staff immunization records (Influenza, Measles, and Pertussis) on file for each employee.
Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is |
