25 | A case management inspection was conducted on this date by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Stacy Torrence. The purpose for today’s inspection was to evaluate the facility for a capacity increase and a change in classrooms. LPA met with Veronica Berber-Aceves, Early Learning Specialist. At this time, the children are participating in the virtual learning program; therefore, there are no children or staff present. Facility is currently licensed for 44 children and seeking to increase capacity to 48 children. Facility is also requesting to replace classroom #404 with classroom #505. The facility is currently licensed for the following classrooms: #404, #505, and #506. According to Ms. Veronica, classroom #404 will no longer be utilized. This facility is located on the Garfield Elementary School site. The facility has a waiver to share playground and bathrooms with the elementary kindergarten children on a rotating schedule. The facility operates Monday-Friday 8am-4pm with a full and part-time program (AM session:8-11am; PM session: 12-3pm), serving children ages 2 through 5 years old.
A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who required caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions.
All areas identified on the Facility Sketch were inspected. Office area is located in the front corner of the building and will serve as the isolation area for ill children temporarily until parents arrive. The staff bathroom will be used as the isolation bathroom and is conveniently located close to the isolation area. Medication will be stored in a locked box. Furniture and equipment were inspected for age appropriateness and good repair. Age appropriate sinks and toilets were inspected for availability, good repair, water temperature, toilet paper, paper towels, area safety and sanitation. Drinking water in the indoor activity space will be supplied by a water faucet. First Aid supplies were inventoried. Sign in / sign out record meets regulation requirements. |
