Staff tied day care children to chair
Interviews were conducted with the director and three teachers, all stated that no children was ever tied to any chair. The director stated she has never stated that she has not received any complaints about children being tied to chairs. Interviews were conducted with five parents who were not aware of any children being tied to any type of chairs. Interviews were conducted with five children who stated that they play a game called “criss cross apple sauce” the game is when the teacher says the phrase and the children sit down and cross their legs quietly ready for the next direction. Interviews with the children confirmed that none of the children mentioned being tied to the chairs. One child stated they cross their leg around a chair so that they could be first to sit down.
Based on interviews conducted and conflicting information that Staff tied children to chairs although the allegations may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violations did or did not occur, therefore the allegations are unsubstantiated.
