32 | 1 Staff file and 1 parent volunteer file were reviewed for staff present during the facility inspection on this date and found to be within compliance. Director stated each parent volunteers 2-3 times a month or as necessary, but less than 15 hours in a week. Health screening and immunizations as required were reviewed. Beginning September 1, 2016, Health and Safety (H&S) 1597.622 states, a person shall not be employed or volunteer at a family day care home if he or she has not been immunized against influenza, pertussis, and measles. Proof of immunization against pertussis, measles for director and parent volunteer were reviewed and within compliance.
Beginning March 31, 2018, H&S Code 1596.8662 requires all directors and employees to complete mandated reporting training, and to renew the training every two years. Based on observation, record review and interview, the Director’s Mandated Reporter expired on February 27, 2021, and is found to be out of compliance. At least one staff member present possesses current EMSA approved Pediatric CPR/First Aid certifications, which expires May 2, 2025.
3 Children's records were reviewed, and there was a separate, complete and current record for each child. Immunization records, Consent for Emergency Medical Treatment (LIC627), Notification of Parent’s Rights (LIC995A). In the areas reviewed, the children’s files were found to be in full compliance. Sign in/out procedure was reviewed for compliance.
The outdoor activity space was inspected for compliance. There is a patio access door facing the front entrance of the facility. There isa gate access to the pool from the patio but is not accessible by children in care. The facility also has waiver for the children to use the local nearby park, Centennial Park for outdoor space. The facility staff and children go to a nearby playground with parent’s consent at around 12 noon daily. The facility's outdoor patio and outdoor activity space was well maintained and free of hazards. Drinking water in the outdoor activity space is provided by parents using sports bottles with the child’s name on it. There are bodies of water present at the facility. Children does not have access to the community swimming pool. Bodies of water checklist was performed, and facility is found to be in full compliance. The facility grounds were safe, sanitary and in good repair.
