25 | On 04/30/2021, at 9:00 a.m., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Stacy Torrence conducted a virtual inspection with Kristin Simmons, Owner, via facetime. The purpose of this inspection is to provide technical assistance and ensure the facility is safe for the care and supervision of children in care. There were 16 children and three staff present. Due to COVID-19 state of emergency, a waiver to comingle six toddler component children with preschool children, in order, to create cohorts of children that are stable throughout the day during COVID-19 outbreak, waiver granted on 04/02/2021.
Each child has individual boxes, located by the front door of the facility. In those boxes are the child’s sign in/out sheet and pen for the parent to manually sign in/out their child. There is a black square located at the front entrance of the facility, in which the children stand on, and the staff stand behind the black square, then escort the child to his/her classroom. Children’s temperature is taken in the morning and afternoon. If children become ill during the day, they will rest in a little section off area, in the middle classroom, adjacent to another classroom, which is designated as the isolation area. The staff bathroom is designated as the isolation bathroom. The staff bathroom is located towards the back of the facility. Children’s authorized representative will be contacted immediately for pick up, if a child becomes ill. Department of Public Health will be contacted in regard to any COVID-19 illness.
Children will stay with the same group as assigned and will not be moved from one group to the other. No more than 16 individuals in a cohort and groups must be kept physically separated. Age appropriate furniture including tables and chairs and are present in each of the rooms to meet the needs of children in care. There is a total of two bathrooms. There are two toilets and two sinks available. There is a designated outdoor play area with age appropriate equipment and activities. There is a water dispenser, water jugs, and sinks with filter water inside the classrooms. Water jugs are used for outside water availability. Each child has their own cups.
