An unannounced 3 year required inspection was conducted on this date by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Ketki Desai . Upon arrival, LPA was greeted by Office staff in the Preschool office area, Director Hadley Brittany shortly joined and accompanied the LPA on a tour of the facility.
This is a Preschool program and next to a Church school. ( Independent Learning Academy), there is a Waiver in place for the shared play yard. The students from ILA have access to certain specified hours of the day while the Preschool has designated yard time for the kids enrolled.
A review of staff records indicates all facility staff or individuals who require caregiver background checks have received a criminal record clearance or exemption and a child abuse index clearances. All staff are cleared are associated to thel facility.

Census: Room # 201 ( 2 year old) 3 children with one staff/ Room # 202 ( 3 year olds) 4 children with one staff/ Room # 203 ( 3-4 year olds) 6 children with one staff/ Room # 110 : Computer room for Pre- K and TK children/ Room # 108 : Science and cooking classroom / Room # 105-107 : (Pre K) 6 children with one staff and Room # 104-106 ( TK ) 7 children with one staff.

The Center's days and hours of operation are Monday- Friday 6.30 to 6.00

Posting requirements: All posting requirements were observed on the Parent Boards. The license, the snack menu, the Personal Rights, Child Passenger Safety Law, Notification of Parents Rights, Emergency disaster plan and Waiver for shared play yard are posted on the Parent Board.

Physical Plant: Facility designee guided LPA on a tour of the facility, All the seven classrooms were observed. There are four classrooms in the basement while the rest of the three are on the first level. Furniture and equipment were inspected for age appropriateness and good repair. Telephone service, heating and air-conditioning, lighting and ventilation were evaluated. (continued- Page 2)

Storage for children's belongings and toilets were inspected. The restrooms are inside two classrooms allocated to younger children while there are 8 toilets and 15 sinks for the children , during outdoor play activities children use the restroom in the hallway, All the restrooms were observed to clean and sanitary with the required paper products and step ladder for the children to reach the sinks. Each classroom was observed to clean including the carpets and storage area. Availability of drinking water was reviewed , each classroom was observed to have a Filtered water pitcher with small cups and children also have an option to bring in their own water bottles which are stored in their individual cubbies.

If a child is ill, they are brought into the Entrance office or the Director's office and mat with linens are brought out for the child. Medication are stored in a locked cabinet in the office area.



There is a Fire extinguisher, smoke & carbon monoxide detector mounted on the wall it was tested and is operable. Sprinkler system has also been installed through out the preschool hallway and classrooms.

Play Yard: All the seven Preschool classrooms use the same yard on the premises. Each room walks through the hallway to gain access to the yard. Door to the yard remains locked. Outdoor equipment was inspected for safety, cushioning material, good repair and age appropriateness. There is concrete and shaded area on the playground, Water fountain observed. The playground is surrounded on all four sides by a five foot high metal fence. The play area was inspected for hazards and inaccessibility to bodies of water. Climbing structures were observed to be clean with appropriate cushioning material and shade. Children in Pre-K and TK classroom have their Lunch in the shaded area.

Food Service: The Center serves AM/ PM snacks for full day sessions.
Children bring in their own lunch, Microwave is available for food to be warmed up if instructed by the parents. Monthly menu is posted and snack storage was reviewed and meets the requirements.

Napping: Children attending the full day sessions nap in the classroom # 202 and # 104/106. Mats are labelled and are stored appropriately. Linens are provided by the parents and washed on a weekly basis. Linens are stored in a separate bags.

Health related Services: There is one First Aid Kit and Emergency Kit in each classroom near the exit doors. Director and staff are trained by Health Educators who provide the needed IMS treatment to the child. This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173.

Transportation: This facility does not provide transportation services

An Emergency Disaster Drill log washed . The last fire drill was ran 8-26- 2019 and Lock down drill on 9-30-19 . Drills are held on a monthly basis. Teacher child ratios were observed and staff names recorded. Care and supervision was evaluated to determine if the basic needs of children are met appropriately.


Sign in and out sheets and procedures were reviewed with Director as was the policy of checking children for illnesses. Children are sign in / out by parents upon arrival and later during pick up time.
Personal Rights of children were discussed and observed by LPA.
Per Director, there are currently no firearms or weapons on the premises.

File review: A random sampling of 5 preschoolers' files and Four staff files including Director's were reviewed for completeness, including, but not limited to Criminal Record Clearances for adults, qualifications and verification of CPR/First Aid for the openers and closers. All the files are kept in the main office . Emergency cards are available for review. Staff present on premises are current on Infant CPR/ First Aid along with Immunization's and Mandated Reporting training.

No deficiency cited per title 22 on today's inspection.

Upon receipt, Administrator Hadley Brittany posted the Notice of Site Visit.

The Notice of Site Visit shall be posted for thirty (30) consecutive days. Failure to maintain posting as required will result in a $100 civil penalty.

An exit interview has been conducted with, and a copy of this report has been signed by and provided to Director.
