Licensing Program Analyst, (LPA) P Rivas conducted an unannounced case management visit per Licensee's request to increase capacity from 60 to 69 pre school children. LPA was assisted by Wendy Braun, Director.
During visit, Applicant determined to lower request from 69 to 68 preschool children ages 2 to 5 year olds in Pre School classrooms #1(B101), #2(B102) and #3 & #4 (A106) and adding Rm#5 (A105)Hours of operation are 7:00 am to 5:30 pm Monday through Friday. Present during today’s inspection were 56 preschool children with 6 preschool teachers. Appropriate ratios and supervision were observed. All indoor and outdoor activity space utilized for the children was inspected today. LPA informed Ms. Braun that staff are required to maintain direct visual supervision of the children at all times during indoor and outdoor activities.
LPA was provided a new lic 200A for a change to the requested capacity to 68 instead of 69 during today's case management visit.

LPA continued to tour the facility and measured new additional indoor activity space. Room #5 was measured today for a total of 348.03 square feet The indoor space for rooms #1,2,3 and 4 were previously measured on 08/19/16 for a total 2100 sqft Total indoor activity space measured 2448.03 square feet which is sufficient to accommodate the newly requested capacity of 68 Children. complete with safe, age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, cubbies, napping cots/mats, bookshelves, and other activity supplies for the children. Drinking water is available in the classrooms via filtering water system and children's water bottles .

LPA observed all hazardous items to be inaccessible to children. There are no bodies of water or weapons on the property. Fire clearance was granted for 69 preschool children.


LPA observed a total of 5 sinks and 5 toilets available for children’s use. These are sufficient to accommodate the newly requested capacity of 68 children.
LPA noted working alarms placed on doors leading to outside walk way from rooms 3 and 4.
The facility currently has two fully fenced playground areas. Fencing side is a cement wall and wrought iron fence which are at least four feet high. The total square footage for all the outdoor activity space was previously measured on 02/04/2019 with total square footage of 5120 square feet which is sufficient for the new requested capacity of 68. Shade is provided via easy ups. There are sufficient outdoor age-appropriate toys and play equipment available on the playground. There is adequate cushioning in fall zones of slides provided by cushioned by pour and place . Drinking water is available via the children bring their bottled water outside. Water bottles are refilled via the facility's filtered water.

care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

LPA viewed all teachers present had the required fingerprint clearances.

LPA was advised that the facility passed Lead Testing.

This facility plans does provides Incidental Medicals Services and Plan.

“LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with applicant, Wendy Braun and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at: https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep, as an additional resource. LPA also informed applicant, Ms. Braun of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at: https://www.cpsc.gov/, and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.”

Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org site, a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. “
The following is required prior to increase in capacity;

1. Four out of eight Corrections requested via the Notice of Incomplete application
2. New fire clearance to match new requested capacity.
3 Final review of application packet.
Items to be provided by 02/23/34.

A capacity increase to 68 may be granted after the above requirements are met and a final file review is conducted.

A notice of site visit was given to Ms. Braun and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days

Exit interview was conducted and report was reviewed with the licensee/ Applicant, Wendy Braun. Appeal rights provided.
