An unannounced case management Licensee initiated inspection was conducted on this date by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Desai, Ketki for the purpose of changing the capacity by adding two new rooms in Blg B room # B101 and B102.
The facility is currently licensed for 50 preschool children. LPA Desai, Ketki met with Executive Director CDC: Ms. Linnell, Janneth and Ms. Gonzalez, Zeferina who guided analyst on a tour of the facility. The facility is located on the campus of Remington Adult school.
Children were present in the currently licensed rooms ( Blg C # 101 and 102)
Currently the facility has full day program operating hours, 7.00 am to 6.00 PM, Monday-Friday serving children ages 2-5 years old.

A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who required caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions.

All areas identified on the Facility Sketch were inspected. If children become ill during the day, they will rest in the isolation area Director's office next to the classrooms. There are communal bathrooms, children in the new classroom shall walk to Building C located just across the new classrooms. Medication will be stored in the classroom, located in a top cabinet. Incidental Medical services are provided. Furniture and equipment were inspected for age appropriateness and good repair. New classrooms has portable sinks inside the classroom for the children. Age appropriate sinks and toilets were inspected for availability, good repair, water temperature, toilet paper, paper towels, area safety and sanitation. The facility provide water inside/outside by a water jug and disposal cups and children bring their own water bottles from home labeled with their names. First Aid supplies were inventoried.

Center provides breakfast / lunch and PM snacks, which is delivered to the facility by the Santa Ana school district cafeteria. Continue on next page (1 of 2)

Following was observed in the two new classrooms ( B#101 and B102- portables)
1) Age appropriate furniture and activities including Educational / Arts & Crafts items.
2) Room is well ventilated with proper lighting and shade.
3) There is a working Smoke detector / Carbon Monoxide detectors and Fire Extinguisher.
4) There is one portable sink inside each new classrooms and toilets are present in building C.
5) Children shall nap on cots and linens and blankets are provided by the facility and washed on premises.
6) Parent drop off - pick up: Designated left side gate, next to the main office : Electronic sign in the classroom.
7) There are three changing tables within arm's reach for the younger preschool age children.

Preschool rooms were measured today: ( 4 Preschool classrooms)
Total Indoor activity space: 4174 divided by 35 = 119'26 ( 119 children)
Facility has sufficient space to accommodate 100 preschool age children as requested in the four assigned classrooms

Total sinks : 7 X 15 = 105 children / Toilets: 7 X 15 = 105 children
Outdoor Activity Space-Previous Measurements: Total= 11096 divided by 75 = 147'95 (148 children)

Playground is completely enclosed. Outdoor activity area is supplied with age and size appropriate equipment, climbing structures and open play area. Adequate shade is provided by Canopies and trees.

Fire clearance approval on file with the capacity of 100 children

In the areas evaluated, no deficiency was observed and cited today per CA Code of Regulations, Title 22, and Division 12.

A new License with a capacity of 100 Preschool age children (2-5 years) in 4 rooms (B#101, B102, C101 and C102) Monday to Friday 7.00 AM to 6.00 PM shall be issued upon management approval.

Exit interview was conducted. A copy of this report and appeal rights were discussed and provided to the director. The Notice of Site Visit was posted. The director was informed that the Notice of Site Visit must be posted for 30 consecutive days. Failure to post will result in civil penalties of $100.
