Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Mahnaz (Nancy) Malek and Romelia (Romy) Castanon conducted a case management inspection of the facility for the purpose of reviewing a waiver request for sharing the preschool playground with Toddler Option children on a different timing. The facility has been granted a temporary waiver during COVID on 11/4/2020. LPAs met with director, Kimberly Ewing who gave LPA a tour. Currently the facility is licensed for 44 preschool children in Yellow and Orange Rooms and 12 toddlers from Toddler Option in Blue Room. LPAs observed there were 29 preschool children with 5 staff on the playground and in the classrooms and 6 toddlers with 2 staff from Toddler Option Component.
A review of the Facility Personnel Report Summary on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions.
The facility has requested to share he preschool playground with Toddler Option children on a different scheduling. The former waiver which was granted is not valid any longer since that waiver was granted during COVID time only. The Toddler Option Program has its own outdoor space specifically for Toddler Option Component. The facility has requested to use preschool space for Toddler Option as additional outdoor space. The facility has met all the posting requirements. LPAs measured the whole available outdoor space for preschool children including Toddler Option.

Total outdoor activity space measurement is as follows:
Outdoor space for the toddler playground is: 1464 square feet divided by 75 =19.52 (20 children).
Outdoor space for the preschool playground with big structure is: 2684 square feet divided by 75 =
35.78 (36 children).
Outdoor space for the preschool playground with appropriate equipment for younger children is: 2728 square feet divided by 75 =36.37 (37 children).
