32 | There is a working smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and fire extinguisher in the facility. Per Director if an infant is unwell, they remain with an additional teacher in the classroom till the parents arrive. Younger infants nap in the crib while the older infants nap on the cots. Linens are provided by the parents and are taken home for wash on a weekly basis. Availability of drinking water was reviewed. In each classroom, there are drinking water pitcher and children also bring in their own water bottles.
Outdoor equipment was inspected for safety, cushioning material, good repair and age appropriateness. There is concrete and grass on the playground, The infant teachers bring out a watcher pitcher and individual sippy cups. The playground is surrounded on all four sides by a five foot high metal gate. The play area was inspected for hazards and inaccessibility to bodies of water. The toys are brought out from the classroom as needed due to summer time .
Food Service: Provided by the parents for the infants and items were labeled and stored appropriately.
Health-Related Services: There is one First Aid Kit in each classroom. A review of medication policy, including administering, labeling, storage, and records was made
This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. Transportation: This facility does not provide transportation for any infants.
An Emergency Disaster Drill log is kept. The last fire drill was conducted on 8/9/2019. Sign in and out sheets and procedures were reviewed with Director as was the policy of checking children for illnesses. Personal Rights of children were discussed and observed by LPA. Per Director, there are currently no firearms or weapons on the premises. |
