25 | On 01/07/2021, at 4:00 p.m., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Stacy Torrence conducted a virtual inspection with Zoey Luo, Assistant Teacher. The purpose of this inspection is to provide technical assistance and ensure the facility is safe for the care and supervision of children in care. Due to COVID-19 state of emergency a waiver to operate a pilot program to run small cohort home based stable group of approximately 3 to 5 preschool children in one of their parent’s home during COVID-19 outbreak, waiver was granted on 11/19/2020 for the facility to care for children ages 3 to 5 at the above address due to COVID-19.
The facility is a two-story home. The first floor is designated as the daycare area. There is a safety gate located at the bottom of the stairs, ensuring the second floor is inaccessible to children in care.
Check-in take place at the front gate of the home; where parents drop and pick up children. Parents are not allowed inside the home. Upon arrival children’s temperature is taken and they immediately wash their hands. If children become ill during the day, they remain at their desks, which are positioned, 6 ft. away from each other. There is one bathroom, on the 1st floor, that is utilized as the isolation bathroom. Children’s authorized representative will be contacted immediately for pick up, if a child becomes ill. Department of Public Health will be contacted in regard to any COVID-19 illness.
Children will stay with the same group as assigned and will not be moved from one group to the other. No more than 16 individuals in a cohort and groups must be kept physically separated. Age appropriate furniture including tables and chairs are present in each of the rooms to meet the needs of children in care. The bathroom is located on the 1st floor, in the hallway. There are safety latches on the drawers, located in the bathroom. There is one toilet and one sink available. There is a designated outdoor play area with age appropriate equipment and activities. Drinking water readily available through the use of personal water bottles. The host family has a water filter to provide extra water to the children in care.
