25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Ketki Desai conducted an unannounced Case Management Licensee initiated inspection for a change in capacity. Licensee is requesting an increase to the current Preschool capacity from 40 preschool age children to 51 preschool children ages (2-5 years old by adding one new classroom (Room # 102 also identified as a yellow room to the Preschool license.
LPA met with Facility Administrator Ms. Rice, Sharlene, who gave a tour of the Preschool classrooms.
All areas identified on the Facility Sketch were inspected. Furniture and equipment were inspected for age appropriateness and good repair. Telephone service, heating, lighting and ventilation were evaluated. Storage for children's belongings and an isolation area with sink, toilet, and cot were inspected. Availability of drinking water was reviewed. Age appropriate sinks and toilets were inspected for availability, good repair, water temperature, toilet paper, paper towels, area safety and sanitation. First Aid supplies were inventoried. Playground is completely enclosed by a fence. Outdoor activity area is supplied with age and size appropriate equipment including a climbing structure. An adequate amount of cushioning material is in place under the equipment. Shade is provided by awnings and a Water pitcher and personnel water bottles are used for drinking water. A review of medication policy, including administering, labeling, storage, and records were made, disaster drills, posting requirements, children records, mandated child abuse and injury/death reporting, and criminal records clearances/exemption transfer requests.
All the three Preschool rooms were measured on today’s inspection and the measurements are as follows:
Room # 101 (Red) 22'75 x 23'58 = 536'45 - 8'52= 527'93
Room # 102 (Yellow) 18'42 x 20'42 = 376'14
Room # 104 (Blue) 42 x 23'83 = 1000'86 -93'44 = 907'49
