NARRATIVE
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25	An unannounced case management inspection was conducted on this date by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Desai, Ketki for the purpose of adding a room (Palm Room # 6) and an increase in capacity The facility is currently licensed for 80 children and is requesting to increase to 95 children. LPA Desai, Ketki met with Director Conti Fetter, Carrie, who guided analyst on a tour of the facility. Census was taken. There were 46 preschool children pre sent; with ten staff supervising the children present. Currently facility’s operations hours are Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m.- 5:00 p.m, serving ages 2.5 to 5.5 years old; in classrooms: Room #1 (Oak) Room # 2 (Sequoia), Room # 3 (S.T.E.M) Room # 4& 5: Cypress along with the Multipurpose Napping room. Facility is now adding new room # 6 (Palm room) A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who required caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. The following was observed in added Preschool Room: · Age appropriate furniture and equipment · Room is well lighted and ventilation was good · Drinking water is available through water pitchers and personal water bottles · Sign in and out procedures were reviewed (Manual) Indoor measurements : Room # 6 was measured on today's inspection. Total Indoor measurements : 4117'18 divided by 35 = 117'63 (118 children) Facility has sufficient indoor space to accommodate the request capacity of 95 children.

Bathroom is located in the hallway, adjacent to the classroom.
Total sinks and toilets : Toilets: 7 X 15 = 105 children and Sinks: 9 X 15 = 135 children

There are sufficient sinks and toilets for 95 children the requested capacity.

Playground is completely enclosed by a fence. Outdoor activity area is supplied with age and size appropriate equipment including climbing structures, tricycles. An adequate amount of cushioning material is in place under the climbing equipment. (Tyre chips/ sand and wooden chips) Shade is provided by trees , awings along with shaded structures and drinking is provided by a water pitcher and personal water bottles.

Total outdoor activity space: 12884.45 divided by 75 = 171.79 (172 children)

After a tour of the center, no deficiency was observed.

Facility Administrator is current on the required Pediatric CPR/First Training: Valid up to 009/02/2023

Based on today’s Indoor and Outdoor measurements, sink & toilet availability, center has enough activity space to support the requested capacity of 95 preschool children.

Fire clearance was granted by Orange County Fire Authority for a total of 95 total capacity.

License shall be issued upon Management approval.
Criminal Record Statement : Facility Representative (Ms. Conti Fetter, Carrie ) was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

Safe Sleep: LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with Facility Representative (Ms. Conti Fetter, Carrie) discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource.
