Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Desai, Ketki conducted an unannounced Case Management Licensee initiated inspection for a change in capacity, Increasing the Infant 20 infants in room # 2.

Currently facility is licensed for 12 infants: (6 weeks to 24 months in Room # 2)

Licensee is now requesting a change to the current Infant capacity from 12 to 20 infants in room # 2.

Total Infant would be 20 infants

LPA met with Facility Administrator Ms. Ahn, Sung Ja who gave a tour of the Infant classroom# 2

All areas identified on the Facility Sketch were inspected. LPA observed the following for the Infant room


Rooms had age and size appropriate furniture, activities and educational items. · Classroom is adequately equipped with age and size appropriate furniture, toys and equipment
· Drinking water is available inside by water pitchers
· Sign in/Sign out procedure was reviewed and meets regulation requirements (Manual sign in and out)
· There is a working smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and fire extinguisher that meet statutory requirements
· Cubbies available for storage of individual child’s personal belongings and/or bedding
· The changing table is within arm’s reach of a sink
· The changing table is padded with raised sides
· Bedding is taken home daily by the parents and extra beddings, if needed is available.
· There is a designated napping area surrounded by a 4 ft wall with enough infant napping equipment (4 cribs and cots for older infants)
· The infant indoor is physically separate from the preschool component.

Center policy: Formula shall be provided while all other baby food/ Diapers/ pull ups/ lotions / wipes/ crib linens/ personal utensils/ bowls shall be provided by the parents, every infant shall have their own bin to store personal items.

The measurements taken on 3/16/21, remains current, the measurements are as follows

Room# A (Infants): 35'25 X 29'67 = 1045'87 - 114'08 = 931'79


Total indoor activity area: 931'79 divided by 35= 26'62 (27 infants)

Total children toilets and sinks: There is a toilet inside the room with 3 stalls and one potty chair and 3 sinks.
Sink: 3 X 15= 45 & Toilets: 3 x 15= 45

Facility has requested a capacity for 20 infants in room # 2. Fire clearance has approved the capacity requested.

Outdoor yard: Infant yard is just outside the classroom; it has an open space with cemented area and an area with artificial grass with age appropriate play structures. However, the fencing surrounding the play area remains wobbly, it is easily moveable. Therefore, the fencing needs to be corrected by the Licensee.

Facility needs to refurbish the Infant yard with a proper fencing

Infant yard can occupy 13 infants as per the last measurements.

LPA shall conduct a Case Management inspection upon completion of the outdoor fencing area in the infant yard before the final approval for change in capacity.

Report was read to the Facility Administrator; appeal rights were provided along with Notice of Site visit was posted.
