13 | On April 14, 2023 Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Lea Habtom and Jeremey McClain made an unannounced inspection to the facility and met with director Denise Scheleth. The purpose of today’s visit is to open and close a complaint investigation. There was a census of 65 toddler & preschool children in the toddler, preschool & pre-K classrooms being supervised by 8 staff . All staff present today have been fingerprint cleared and associated to the facility.
Staff did not properly supervise day care children
During the investigation, LPA L. Habtom and J. McClain conducted staff and children interviews regarding the allegiation that facility staff did not properly supervise day care children. LPAs toured the facility, conducted observation and interviewed those pertinent to the investigation. Based on all staff and children interviews, LPA L. Habtom gathered that children ask staff to use the restroom and are walked to the restroom as staff stand by the door insight. From where staff are positioned, they are able to see in the restroom and classroom while providing privacy to the child. Based on interviews and the limited information provided by the reporting party, LPA L. Habtom was unable to determine that staff do not properly supervise day care children when using the restroom therefore the allegation is unsubstainted. Although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the allegations did or did not occur.
This report was reviewed with director, Denise Schleth. A notice of site visit was provided to be posted for 30 days. Appeal rights provided. |
