25 | Due to COVID-19 Licensing Program Habtom (LPA) Habtom was unable to complete the case management visit to add the toddler option based on normal practice of an unannounced inspection. LPA Habtom conducted a tele-visit using facetime on December 21, 2020 at 12:00 pm with program manager Teresa Dawson-Roberts. No children were present during today’s visit.
Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Lea Habtom met with Program Manager, Teresa Dawson-Roberts for the purpose of a case management inspection. Licensee has requested to add a toddler option to their preschool license by altering the capacity to include 24 toddlers (ages 18 to 36 months) and 48 preschool children. A fire clearance was granted on 12/02/2020 for a total of 24 toddlers and 48 preschool children.
The facility will serve 24 toddlers and 48 preschool children in the preschool portable room K1 on the Rock Creek Elementary School campus. The program operates Monday - Friday from 7:00am - 3:30pm during the Placer County Office of Education academic school year. The toddler option program is anticipated to begin around July 2021. No measurements were not taken today as measurements were taken during the case management visit on 10/27/2020.
The program manager understands that the provisions of Title 22 sections 101151 through 101239.2 shall apply for children over 24 months, in addition to health and safety section 1596.956. Section 101351 through 101439.1 shall apply to children between the ages of 18-24 months. Mats, cots, changing tables, and age appropriate furniture, equipment and toys have been ordered and should arrive shortly. There are 2 toilets suitable to toddlers connected to the classroom. There is sufficient storage for toddler’s individual belongings. LPA reviewed the ratio requirement of 1 to 6, maximum group size of 12 toddlers and that the toddler program must be conducted in areas separate from those used by younger or older children. Program manager understands that a qualified teacher with 3 infant units must be present with the toddlers.
