25 | On October 12th, 2022, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jeremey McClain met with Licensing Representative Jennifer Walker for an unannounced required annual random inspection. LPA observed care and supervision of 15 preschool children by two staff.
LPA inspected all activity and classroom spaces, restrooms, and outdoor play areas. Hazardous items are inaccessible to children. Furniture and equipment are in operable and safe condition. Playground equipment and surfaces are free of loose or sharp parts, and adequate cushioning was observed in areas underneath climbing equipment. Toileting facilities are in safe, sanitary, and operating condition. The floors appeared clean throughout the facility.. Storage containers with solid waste have tight-fitting covers in each classroom. No children in care require medications. LPA observed functional carbon monoxide detector.
Snacks and meals are provided by families. Noncontaminated Drinking water is readily available to children both indoors and outdoors. LPA informed Licensing Representative about Assembly Bill 2370 requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their drinking water for lead contamination between January 1, 2020, and January 1, 2023, and then every 5 years after the date of the first test.
LPA observed full legal signatures while reviewing the sign in and sign out sheet.
LPA reviewed records for all present staff. At least one staff member present today has current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification which expires 01/2023. All staff currently employed with the facility have: a criminal record clearance, a health screening report, immunization records, current AB1207 Mandated Reporter Training, and documentation of their educational background, training, and/or experience.
Children records were reviewed. Each child's file contained a completed emergency contact form, immunization records, signed personal rights form, and a completed medical assessment. (1/2)
